The journey to the crown was shaped by months of preparation and visibility. The Top 9 finalists were announced in October, following weeks of speculation about the pageant’s management. Mazaleni drew inspiration from her sister, Homba Mazaleni, a Top 5 finalist in 2023, who encouraged her to enter the pageant. Both sisters have emphasized the importance of education and social advocacy in their personal and professional lives.
Throughout the competition, Mazaleni actively engaged with the Empower Youth Africa (EYA) initiative, which aims to foster youth-led social-impact projects across the continent. Her leadership and commitment to community service were highlighted by pageant organizers and media outlets alike, underscoring her purpose-driven approach.

On the night of the coronation, Mazaleni received a prize package valued at over R3 million. Her family, including her sister and mother, celebrated her win and highlighted her dedication to education and youth empowerment. The Eastern Cape Premier and provincial officials also publicly acknowledged Mazaleni’s achievement, noting the pride her victory brings to the province.
In addition, Dr. Precious Moloi-Motsepe, Chair of the Miss South Africa Organisation, announced that Mazaleni will serve as the inaugural ambassador for the Empower Youth Africa program, solidifying her role as a national figure in social development. Following her win, Mazaleni expressed deep gratitude, reflecting on the personal and professional growth she experienced throughout the competition.
Mazaleni succeeds Natasha Joubert as Miss South Africa, with Luyanda Zuma and Karabo Mareka completing the top three. Her victory represents not just a crowning of beauty, but a platform for meaningful leadership, advocacy for inclusive education, and youth empowerment initiatives across the country.
