Beverly Naya Launches First Annual Skin Summit Lagos 2025

When Beverly Naya stepped onto the stage at the Skin Summit in Lagos, she did more than host an event—she led a movement. The inaugural edition of the summit became a landmark in Africa’s beauty and wellness industry, blending faith, entrepreneurship, and identity into one purposeful experience.

What began as a concept “a few years ago” evolved into a masterclass in creative leadership. With planning support from The Fade Agency and flawless execution by 97 Events, Naya’s vision materialised into a platform that prioritised women’s confidence, community, and self-acceptance.

Naya opened the summit in a custom TUBO gown paired with pieces from Boz Diamonds, grounding her message in authenticity and grace: “With God by my side, I cannot fail.” The declaration set a tone of faith-fuelled ambition that echoed through every panel and partnership.

The event’s sponsors reflected its cross-sector influence — NIVEA West AfricaFCMBInverrocheEssenza NigeriaNestlé Pure Life, and travel partner Wakanow — each aligning their brands with the summit’s message of wellness and inclusion.

Hosted by Simi Drey, the panels featured influential voices such as Rita Dominic and other cultural leaders who discussed self-image, digital identity, and the economics of beauty. The atmosphere, softly scented by KO by Kaylah diffusers, combined luxury with introspection, affirming Naya’s reputation for curating experiences that resonate beyond aesthetics.

For Naya, whose award-winning documentary Skin reshaped public dialogue on colourism, the summit was a natural evolution of her advocacy. Guests left not only inspired but empowered—carrying a renewed vocabulary of self-worth and an understanding that beauty, in its truest form, begins within.

“This is only the beginning,” Naya told attendees as the summit concluded. “Skin Summit ’26 — it’s a movement.” With media support from BellaNaijaMarie ClaireBlanck Digital, and Schick Magazine, the platform is already positioned to become an annual fixture in Africa’s wellness and creative economy calendar.

The Skin Summit 2025 proved that beauty can be business, faith can be strategy, and womanhood can be the foundation for cultural reinvention.
