Johannesburg, South Africa — The PRISM Awards 2025 lit up Johannesburg on 18 October 2025, honouring the campaigns and agencies that defined South Africa’s communications landscape. With this year’s theme, “The Human Factor,” the awards spotlighted work that fused creativity, empathy, and measurable business impact.
The night’s top honour, Grand Prix Agency of the Year, went to Magna Carta Reputation Management Consultants, reaffirming its position as one of Africa’s leading reputation firms. The agency also earned the Best Medium Agencytitle, while its Deputy Managing Director, Mary Gearing, received the prestigious Presidential Award for leadership that continues to inspire across the continent.
Flow Communications was named Best Large Agency, and Friday Street Club took Best Small Agency, marking a standout year for creative independents. The Campaign of the Year went to “Niggies” by MultiChoice, a true-crime content series that captured audiences with its authentic storytelling and human-centred PR strategy.
Tribeca Public Relations emerged as a powerhouse with five gold trophies for clients including Glu and OceanX, while Luxity, in partnership with Hook, Line & Sinker, took home Gold in B2C Corporate Communication for a campaign celebrating a new era of sustainable luxury.
The 2025 edition also introduced new categories, including a dedicated academic and student track, broadening access for emerging PR talent. The event’s regional hosting model, starting in Johannesburg, underscores PRISA’s commitment to decentralising recognition and investing in talent across provinces.
Agencies such as DNA Brand Architects and Brandscapers Africa joined the celebrations online, saluting their teams for a year of creativity and resilience. Brandscapers’ own Zemvelo Ndodemnyama was honoured as Best Support Professional, reflecting the teamwork and grit driving the industry’s evolution.

At its heart, The Human Factor celebrated campaigns that demonstrated purpose-driven storytelling and cultural fluency — hallmarks of an industry where emotional intelligence now defines success. Judges praised entrants for building work that “shifted culture, created conversations, and produced meaningful change.”
The PRISM Awards continue to be the benchmark for South African PR excellence, rewarding the strategies that turn human insight into brand influence. As the lights dimmed at the Sandton gala, one truth stood clear: when passion meets purpose, greatness follows.
