Johannesburg’s FNB Stadium erupted on Saturday night as Travis Scott kicked off the international leg of his Circus Maximus Tour. Fans packed the venue, chanting and cheering long before the show began, building anticipation for the record-breaking performance.
Though the concert was scheduled to start at 20:30, Scott didn’t take the stage until 21:41. When he did, the stadium came alive with pulsating lights, booming bass, and a high-energy set that had fans singing, jumping, and dancing in unison.
Broadcaster Anele Mdoda tweeted, “Nah, I’m blown away! What an energy. I’ve never felt the ground shake at any concert — it did last night!” Fan SB Sibisi added, “Travis Scott, you moved me. I was in a terrible place, man. I needed to scream — and now I know everything will be alright.”

Before Scott’s set, the Castle Lite Unlocks Experience kept fans entertained at the Goldrush Dome. The pre-party included live street performances, interactive QR codes, and a live DJ set by Zakes Bantwini on the Gautrain, transforming the train ride into a moving festival.
At the Dome, Amapiano and hip hop dominated the stage. Focalistic, Blxckie, Young Stunna, and top local dancers performed, while Kwesta curated a special hip hop showcase featuring A-Reece, Touchline, and 25K. By the time Scott appeared, fans were primed for a world-class show.

Scott’s international stadium tour spans South Africa, India, South Korea, China, and Japan, starting in Johannesburg on 11 October and ending in Tokyo on 8 November. Produced by Live Nation and Big Concerts, this run follows a 2023 tour across North America, Europe, Latin America, Australia, and New Zealand that grossed $209.3 million and sold 1.7 million tickets, making it the highest-grossing rap tour in history.
