The 2025 edition of the Megafest Business Awards – Southern Region convened leaders, entrepreneurs, and innovators from across Southern Africa at the M&M Joyous Kingdom Centre in Bulawayo on September 26. Hosted under the theme “African Excellence,” the annual ceremony—now in its 17th year—honoured individuals and companies driving transformation, innovation, and inclusive growth in the region’s business landscape.
Organised by Megafest Holdings, the event has become a benchmark for recognising business leadership and resilience within Zimbabwe’s private sector. Each year, it spotlights achievers whose work has advanced local industry standards, created employment, and strengthened economic competitiveness across the Southern Region.
The 2025 celebration reflected the vibrancy of African enterprise, blending cultural expression with professional recognition. Guests attended in line with the dress code, “Traditional with a Twist,” a creative nod to heritage and modern identity. The evening featured red carpet interviews, live entertainment, and a gala dinner before the awards presentation commenced.
Among the night’s notable honorees was Neomed, recognised for its contribution to healthcare innovation, alongside Mrs. Hadebe, who received individual honours for leadership excellence. These awards underscored the event’s commitment to highlighting both corporate and personal achievements.
In his opening remarks, Megafest Holdings Chairperson Mr. Tafadzwa Musarara reaffirmed the organisation’s mission to promote business integrity, sustainability, and African-driven solutions. He described the awards as “a celebration of resilience and ingenuity, particularly at a time when regional economies are navigating global uncertainty.”
Past winners include Mr. T. Rice, awarded Businessman of the Year (Gold) in 2024, illustrating Megafest’s consistent recognition of high-impact leadership.
The Megafest platform—spanning national and regional editions—has grown into one of Zimbabwe’s most credible business recognition forums. Its categories cover diverse sectors, including manufacturing, banking, mining, technology, agriculture, and social entrepreneurship.
